Yom Kippur is a sacred day in Judaism as it is when God forgives, purifies, and cleanses a person from their past sins. This is conducted through prayer, fasting, abstaining from physical pleasures and work and repentance. It is regarded as the holiest day in Judaism for the central theme of atonement and confession. Most of the day is spent in synagogue services, where the fate of the individual is sealed for the remainder of the upcoming year.
