Yom Hashoah V’Hagevurah (Holocaust Memorial Day)

Literally translating to ‘Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day’, Yom HaZikaron laShoah ve-laG’vurah is observed as Israel’s day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews killed in the Holocaust by Nazi Germany. In Israel, it is a national memorial day, first taking place in 1951.
