World Post Day is the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 in the Swiss Capital, Bern. It was declared World Post Day by the Universal Postal Union Congress held in Tokyo, Japan in 1969. The day is recognised by the United Nations as the beginning of an innovative, integrated and inclusive beginning of postal products and services.
