World Patient Safety Day

World Patient Safety Day is one of the United Nations’ International Days, proclaimed by the World Health Organisation in 2019. It is a public awareness day to improve patient safety as a priority to achieve global health, specifically those who are at-risk or vulnerable – for example, 2021 had the theme ‘Act Now for Safe and Respectful Childbirth’, and highlighted the dangers women and infants face during childbirth.
