26 November

World Olive Tree Day

Established by UNESCO, this day celebrates the symbolism of an olive tree, specifically, an olive branch, which signifies peace, wisdom and harmony. This day encourages the protection of the olive tree and the values it provides. As the climate changes, protecting olive trees signifies the protection of culture and heritage through its social, cultural, economic and environmental significance to humanity. UNESCO encourages those around the world to celebrate this day by joining in on various activities such as debates, conferences, workshops and cultural events, presentations or exhibitions.
