It is estimated that Lung Cancer is responsible for up to one in five cancer deaths globally. World Cancer Day raises awareness and encourages support for research, in the hopes of prevention and eventually a cure. The day aims to highlight the risk factors and to be aware of symptoms at the earliest stage possible to encourage early treatment of the disease.
