World Development Information Day is an opportunity to draw attention to development problems and the need to strengthen international cooperation to solve them. Established by the UN General Assembly, solutions are provided to solve issues of development using new information and communications technologies. The aim is to foster economic growth, competitiveness, access to information and knowledge, poverty eradication, and social inclusion on a global scale.
