World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
Observed by the UN, this day promotes global efforts to reduce road casualties. The global status report launched by the WHO in 2018 highlights the annual number of road traffic deaths has reached 1.35 million, most commonly killing people aged 5 to 29. On this day, opportunities and scale of emotional and economic devastation caused by road crashes is brought to attention, and gives recognition to the suffering of road crash victims and the work of support and rescue services.
