World Children’s Day

Also known as Universal Children’s Day, this day promotes international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare. Established by the UN in 1954, World Children’s Day commemorates when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child <http://undocs.org/A/RES/44/25> . Each year has its own theme, relevant to advocating for increased support and the rights of children.
