Union Day (Myanmar)

Aka Union Day, this is a national public holiday that commemorates the 1947 signing of the Panglong Agreement, a historic agreement between the central government and ethnic minority leaders, including the Shan, Kachin, and Chin ethnic groups, that established the principles for a federal union in Myanmar. The day is marked by various events and activities throughout the country, including speeches, cultural performances, and parades.
