Tynwald Day

This national public holiday is the Isle of Man’s National Day. The day is marked by ceremony and tradition dating back to the tenth century, including an outdoor sitting of the Manx Parliament, the world’s longest continuous parliament, originating in 979 CE. There is also a market, fair, and an evening concert where the national anthem is played, ending with a fireworks display.
