St Thomas the Apostle (Feast Day)
St Thomas the Apostle was one of Jesus’ Twelve Apostles, according to the New Testament. Known as Doubting Thomas for his initial scepticism of the resurrection of Jesus Christ when he was told about it, he later confessed his faith on seeing Jesus’ stigmata marks. The Malankara Orthodox church celebrates his feast on three days, 3 July (in memory of the relic translation to Edessa), 18 December (the Day he was lanced), and 21 December (when he died).
