Saba Saba Day in Tanzania

Also known as ‘Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair Day’, this day is a national public holiday in Tanzania that commemorates the 1954 date when the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) was founded. This is an important date in Tanzania’s fight for independence from the British. It is also the commencement date of an international trade fair in Tanzania that runs for two weeks, with more than 3500 exhibitors, attracting more than 700,000 visitors.
