RU OK? Day (Australia)

RU OK? Day is held annually on the second Thursday of September. It was created by Australian advertising executive Gavin Larkin in 2009 after he suffered from depression following his father’s suicide. It is a day to remind people to think about the people in their lives who might be having a difficult time, and suggests the prompt question, ‘Are you OK?’ There is extensive research proving that genuinely kind communication with people positively impacts their mental state.
