15 June
King’s Birthday (UK)
Celebrates the birthday of the King of England, although it is not his actual birthday. This day, which always falls on the third Saturday in June, is celebrated in the UK instead due to the warmer weather and ability to hold public festivities. It is not a public holiday in the UK. Australia is the only nation that recognises the King’s birthday as a public holiday, in all states except Western Australia and Queensland. Various other states and nations recognise other dates as the King’s Birthday.
