Papankusha is a Hindu fasting day that occurs during the lunar month of Ashwin on the Hindu calendar and is dedicated to Lord Padmanabha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Devotees worship Lord Padmanabha on this day by indulging in luxuries, giving blessings and offering fruits such as bananas and brown coconuts. Rituals are also performed including waking up at early hours to shower and wear clean attire, as well as being forbidden from lying or acting in any sinful manner.
