National Novel Writing Month or ‘NaNoWriMo’ is fostered by a non-profit organisation that promotes creative writing around the world. It’s a program in which participants attempt to write a 50,000 word manuscript during the whole month of November. Well known authors and the community seek to motivate participants, especially those experiencing ‘writer’s block’. Anyone who reaches the 50,000 word mark at the end of the month is considered a winner.
