The National Multicultural Festival, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2023, celebrates Canberra’s cultural diversity. It is a free community festival, beginning in the 1990s and growing to an event reflecting more than 170 unique nationalities that comprise Canberra’s population. It is held over three days, and is supported by the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) government. Events are held by local community groups and private businesses, and celebrate diversity in music, dance, food and the creative arts.
