National Day (Serbia)

National Day, or Statehood Day, is a public holiday over the course of two days in Serbia. It commemorates the first Serbian uprising in 1804, which evolved into the Serbian revolution against Ottoman rule. As a result, Serbia achieved independence from the Ottoman Empire, and the first constitution was signed in 1835.
