One of Japan’s newest national holidays, Mountain Day is an ‘opportunity to get familiar with mountains and appreciate blessings from mountains. It is a fitting holiday as approximately 70% of Japan is made up of mountains. As it is a newer holiday, not a lot of its citizens are aware of it.
