Mawlid Al Nabi is the observance of the birthday of the Islamic Prophet Muhummad, and is observed by many Muslims around the world. It is celebrated in most Islamic countries and others with a significant Muslim population, such as Ethiopia, India, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, France and the United Kingdom. However, it is forbidden in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where it is not an official public holiday.
