    Masik Shivaratri

Masik Shivaratri falls on 14th day of every month of the lunisolar/Hindu calendar. It is a Hindu celebration of prayer and fasting dedicated to Lord Shiva with the hope of achieving peace and removal of all difficulties in life. This day occurs during the waning half moon, known as Krishna Paksha. It is believed that Lord Shiva blesses and fulfils the aspirations of the fasting devotees on every Masik Shivratri. Unmarried women observe this fast to get married, and married women observe this fast to maintain peace and harmony in their marriage.
