This is a day to remember the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth of ten Gurus who founded the Sikh religion. He was born in Amritsar <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amritsar> , Punjab <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punjab> , India in 1621. His death is honoured as he is considered a fearless warrior, spiritual scholar and a poet whose 115 hymns are included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sri_Guru_Granth_Sahib> , the main text of Sikhism.
