Malvinas Day (Argentina)
Aka Day of the Veterans, Malvinas Day is an annual public holiday in Argentina that commemorates the loss of lives during the 1982 Falklands War between Argentina and the United Kingdom. During Argentina’s 74-day occupation of the Falklands and South Georgia and the South Sandwich islands, 649 Argentines, 255 Britons, and 3 Falkland Islanders died in battle. Argentina surrendered to the UK on 14 June 1982.
