Madaraka Day (Kenya)

A national holiday in Kenya that celebrates the 1963 day when Kenya achieved partial independence from Britain. ‘Madaraka’ means ‘self-governance’. Kenya achieved full independence on 12 December 1964, which is celebrated annually on that date as Jamhuri Day (Republic Day).
