Joseph of Nazareth (Feast of St Joseph)

This feast day commemorates the life of Joseph, the husband of Mary and earthly father of Jesus. Joseph is the patron saint of the Universal Church, representing families, fathers, expectant mothers, travellers, immigrants, house sellers and buyers, craftsmen, engineers and working people, among others. On this day, traditional food is shared and religious symbols and tributes are shared with loved ones. Joseph is often referred to as the father in the shadows and in Italy, this date is celebrated as Father’s Day.
