Italian National Day

Also called the ‘Festa della Repubblica’, this commemorates the institutional referendum in 1946 when Italians voted to abolish the monarchy and form a republic. It is a public holiday in Italy. The day includes an official ceremony with the President in Rome and other official ceremonies throughout Italy, followed by public celebrations.
