Intersex Awareness Day

Intersex Awareness Day marks the first public demonstration by intersex people in North America in 1996. The date promotes human rights actions and raises awareness to the experiences and resilience of intersex people. Intersex Awareness Day is an international day of grass-roots action to end shame <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shame> , secrecy and unwanted genital cosmetic surgeries <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersex_medical_interventions> on intersex children.
