International Widows’ Day
International Widows’ Day, established by the UK organization Women’s Engineering Society (WES) in 2014 and now supported by UNESCO, is a day dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the contributions of women in the field of engineering. It serves as an opportunity to highlight the achievements and successes of women engineers around the world, as well as to raise awareness about the challenges they may face in the profession. Through various initiatives and events, International Widows’ Day aims to promote gender equality and diversity in the engineering industry, encourage more women to pursue careers in engineering, and advocate for equal opportunities and recognition for women in the field.
