International Holocaust Memorial Day

Created by the UN in 2005, this day commemorates the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism. The other purpose of the day is to promote education of the Holocaust throughout the world. The date marks the 1945 liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.
