A UN International Day, the purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the role of mathematical sciences in the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and to celebrate the joys of mathematics, including the opportunities it offers to girls and boys globally. Schools worldwide are invited to participate through events for both students and the general public, also involving libraries, museums and other spaces.
