Established by the UN in 2013, International Day of Forests celebrates and raises awareness for the importance of all types of forests and trees, for the benefit of current and future generations. Counties are encouraged to participate in this day by undertaking efforts to organise local, national and international activities involving forests and trees. These activities include planting trees and supporting food and agricultural organisations.
