Independence Day (Gabon)

Gabon is a small country in Central Africa with a population of 2 million. It borders the Atlantic coast and is rich in mineral resources, diamond, gold, natural gas, iron ore, and petroleum. It gained its independence from France on this day in 1960. This is a part of a three-day public holiday and is celebrated with a military parade and other celebrations.
