Independence Day is a day of national pride and patriotism in Cape Verde, celebrated on July 5th each year. The day is marked with parades, fireworks, music, dance, and speeches in every city and town across the country. The celebrations are a reflection of Cape Verdean culture, history, and freedom since 1975. Many people proudly wear clothing or accessories in the national colors of blue, white, and red.
