Hangul day in South Korea, also known as Korean Alphabet Day, is a national commemorative day marking the invention and proclamation of Hangul, the alphabet of the Korean language. The language was created by the 15th-Century Korean monarch, Sejong the Great, and his achievement and excellence is commemorated on this day.
