On this day, the feast of the holy archangels is celebrated. Thanks is given to God for these holy messengers and protectors. It is the Traditional feast day in the Roman Catholic, Anglican Communion, and Orthodox churches, of all holy angels, and specifically Archangel Michael, who is the leader of the heavenly army.
