A national public holiday in Canada, Canada Day, aka Fête du Canada, is Canada’s National Day. It commemorates the 1867 joining of the colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The day is celebrated with parades, Carnivals, Air and Maritime shows as well as fireworks and free concerts.
