On this day, the birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Baha’i faith is celebrated. It is one of the nine holy days on the Baha’i calendar and work is suspended on this day. Bahá’u’lláh was born in Iran in 1817, and was considered to be a manifestation of God who paved the way for the coming of a new messenger of God.
