Bhadrapada Purnima Vrat

Bhadrapada Purnima is the full moon (Purnima) in the traditional Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada. It is a day for devotees to worship Lord Satyanarayan, who is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. The day is celebrated all across India, especially in the state of Gujarat, where a fair is organised at the Ambaji temple. The day is marked with most devotees fasting and is started by devotees taking a bath in one of India’s holy rivers. Idols of Lord Satyanarayan are bathed in milk, sugar, curd, honey and ghee and offerings of fruits and sweets are made.
