Bastille Day (France)

Bastille Day is France’s National Day and a national public holiday in France. It commemorates the anniversary of the 1789 ‘Storming of the Bastille’, the major flashpoint of the French Revolution that toppled the French monarchy. A military parade, said to be the oldest and largest in Europe, is held on the Champs-Elysees in Paris in front of the French president, officials and foreign guests.
