A Buddhist celebration of the day the Buddha began his teachings with a sermon at Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh, India. It falls on the first full moon of the eighth lunar month. On this day, people visit temples, listen to sermons, tithe money to the monks and practise dharma. Candles and Incense are lit for the sermons.
