Accession Day India

Accession Day India is a cultural holiday celebrated on October 26th every year in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This day commemorates the signing of the Instrument of Accession by Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947, which made Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India. The people of Jammu and Kashmir celebrate this day with great enthusiasm, hoisting the Indian flag, singing the national anthem, and bursting firecrackers. The culture of the valley is described as “Kashmiriyat,” and traditional Punjabi festivals such as Lohri and Vaisakhi are also celebrated with great zeal.
